Go don your favorite sweater and grab a Pumpkin Spice Latte, because fall is here! It’s time to start thinking about warmer layers and cooler temps. There are a lot of beautiful trends floating around right now, but if you’re looking for a quick summary, look no further! Here’s a guide to the some of the biggest fashion trends for Fall 2017:
Fall 2017 Fashion Trends
These prints are moodier than the lighter and brighter versions for spring and summer. The thing I love about darker floral patterns is that they are so easy to style and wear all year round.
We don’t normally think of pastel colors for fall, but the popular blush pink hue (called “ballet slipper” this season) will continue to shine as the temperatures drop.
While skinny jeans have become a staple, wider styles have been on the rise. They can range from slightly bootcut to extreme bell-bottoms, so choose the style(s) that works for you.
Velvet is back for another round this season! You know I love my Steve Madden velvet boots, but footwear is only one of many options you have for incorporating this soft textile into your wardrobe.
Add a little sparkle to your wardrobe with metallic embellishments and accessories. Silver will be especially popular.
Shoulders continue to take the spotlight with these styles.
Bell sleeves, sleeves with bows, sleeves with ruffles, etc. will continue to be popular into the fall, so if you embraced that trend back in the spring, you can definitely transition those pieces into your fall wardrobe.
Plaids are always a staple in the fall, but they are really making a splash this year, especially in menswear-inspired looks.
This bold shade will be big this season and well into the next season as well! It’s one of my favorite colors to wear when I want to make a statement.
Shearling and boucle fabrics are a big deal this season, as are puffer jackets. So don’t freeze your butt off – you can be warm and stylish at the same time!
