Live Illustration in the Twin Cities
Posted on October 10 2019
Hello! It's been WAY too long since I last updated the blog, but I'm determined to get back into it. I wanted to share a bit about what I've been up to!
I'm still selling my watercolor artwork and doing a lot of commissions, but the newest addition to my business is live illustration services. The challenge of creating quick illustrations on demand and getting to chat with people is a really fun change of pace. I think you would enjoy the experience too!

What is Live Illustration?
Having a live illustrator at an event is a fun and interactive way to entertain and provide your attendees with beautiful, stylized artwork to commemorate the occasion. Setup is easy - all I need is a sturdy table, a couple of chairs, and good lighting. I bring along my ink pens and professional art markers to create these illustrations, which minimizes drying time and allows recipients to take the artwork immediately upon completion (protected in a complementary plastic sleeve, of course).
Each illustration takes about 7-10 minutes, depending on the subject(s) and level of detail desired. I specialize in fashion illustration, but I've drawn couples, kids, pets, and even a cheetah once! (Definitely had to refer to Google Images for that one.)

Why Live Illustration?
Live illustration is like the new caricature experience, and it's very on trend right now. Whether in a casual or formal setting, it's a social, sophisticated, and creative activity with tangible results. Instead of the typical generic swag, event attendees get to take home a personalized souvenir that they'll actually want to keep.
Where is Live Illustration Used?
Live illustration is a great activity to offer at pop-ups and retail events, corporate events, galas, weddings, parties, etc. I enjoy tailoring the experience to each unique event.
I'm currently taking bookings for the upcoming holiday season! Got a work event, conference, or celebration coming up? Make it an experience to remember with live illustrations for your guests. Contact me to request a booking!
